Wheels
The icing on the cake!
We carry over a dozen forged wheel brands. The most popular being KG1 Forged and American Force!
Your most popular every day, budget-friendly wheels. These include: Fuel Off-Road, Hostile, Method, and Black Rhino.
- Cast: These wheels are "casted" out of a mold, and are typically more budget friendly due to efficient manufacturing processes.
- Forged: Forged wheels are individually milled out of solid blocks of billet aluminum. This allows them to be significantly stronger at a lighter total weight.
Tires
Regardless of lift and wheels, your tires are most responsible for ride quality and handling.
There are four main types of tires in our industry:
- H/T "Highway-Terrain": Best performing on pavement offering typically the lowest noise and best fuel economy.
- A/T "All-Terrain": All-Terrain tires are our most popular option. They provide good road manners while still very capable off-road.
- R/T-X/T "Rugged-Terrain": The newest addition to the market, R/T tires offer a varying mix of traits from Mud-Terrain and All-Terrain Tires. They can be exactly what you need them to be.
- M/T "Mud-Terrain": The name says it all, these tires are built for the mud, and look good doing it. They're typically not quiet, and they don't offer the greatest handling, but what they lack in road manners they make up for off-road.
Tire load range is labeled with a letter that describes a range of load ratings that the tire is capable of, as well as how many layers of rubber and steel are inside the tire.
Popular load ranges for trucks and SUV's:
- D (8 ply): Recommended for SUV's and 1/2 ton trucks that do light or no towing.
- E (10 ply): Commonly recommended for 1/2 ton-1 ton trucks or SUV's that need to be capable of significant hauling and towing
- F (12 ply): The most accessible heavy duty tire available in common tread types. Recommended for trucks and SUV's that do not want to be limited by tire composition. These are typically the stiffest tires, but are also the most durable.
Tire fitment unfortunately is not as cut and dry as it may seem. For example: 35" tall tires on a stock 20" wheel will have a much different fitment than a 20x12 aftermarket wheel.
Tires use two different size systems:
- Standard (35x12.50R20)
35= 35" inches tall
12.50= 12.5" inches wide
R20= Fits a 20" diameter wheel
- Metric (295/65R20)
295= 295mm wide
65= 65% of the tire width (295mm) equals the sidewall height in millimeters. Divide this number by 25.4 for inches. Multiply by two, then add the wheel size for total tire diameter.
R20= Fits a 20" wheel
So a 295/65R20= 35.1" tall, 11.6" wide, for a 20" wheel.
